It was again a beautiful day on Sunday, a perfect day for homemade pizza and music. Lovely!

It was a perfect day for hanami! This weekend is the best. It seems many flowers will fall off next week.

The sky is clear and blue with no clouds, and cherry blossoms are breathtakingly beautiful. We bought some handmade bread and ate them under the sakura tree, seeing them falling the petals. It was so pretty and nice. There was a big pond and some fountains in 甘木公園, and a lot of people were picnicking under the trees or in the sun. It was not as crowded as some parks in Fukuoka city, so it was just perfect. I can't ask for more!

The other place we dropped by is 杉の馬場 where there's a long tunnel of cherry blossoms, near the ruins of a castle. It was amazingly beautiful, with all the trees fully in bloom. I usually don't have a chance to say the word 美しい, but today was the right time.

It was the best hanami I've ever done!!

Hard to choose

Maybe too many choices are not always good. It could often make you waste your time thinking about too much and pressure you to pick the best one, where none of them are really the "best" one.

I want to be more decisive. I'll try. Not to look back, look at the bright side of my choice, and do my best with it.

It's lucky to have options though.. I appreciate them.

"English day"

Interpretation job again with board members from Japan and the general manager from Canada.

Oh... This time we had two meetings; one is a very short one with greetings, exchanging business cards and talking about general topics, and the other is a technical one.

The first one was OK. Not so difficult.. I'm so glad I studied a bit about what was going on between Canada and Japan beforehand.. I think it's crucial for professional interpreters.

The second one was quite tough. They ask multiple questions with very complicated terms and ideas, and a lot of acronyms!!

They say interpreters process clauses in a different way from ordinary people. They have sort of a processor in their mind to rephrase what is said very quickly, probably there are some patterns. Of course they go through a lot of training... It needs different skills! Oh well..

Just amateur translator is what I can do now. Would like to take an intensive professional seminar or something if I have a chance though..

One of my colleagues said I looked happier when I was with them. Speaking English makes me happy and being able to facilitate communication between them makes me even happier. :D

Miscellaneous

I love skyping with my friend~~~ (didn't know that "skype" can be used as a verb)

Calculating time difference, sending pictures when we found something interesting, there are so many things to share. It's so funny to say good morning at night and good night in the morning.

Why are the flights so expensive here in Japan? Travelling from Japan is more expensive than anywhere else, that's what a lot of non-Japanese people complain about too.

I want a long vacation... 10 days will do...

I was able to talk about it like it's nothing.

It's totally OK, no grudge, no regret. I'm glad now I have some people to share it.

So many people supported me to get through it. It was not an easy thing, and I don't want to experience it again, but it made me realize what I have. It taught me to appreciate what I already have.

It was a lesson learnt.
