River and green and hydrangea

Walk by the river!

New normal has become really a new normal

Michigan's stay home order extended again. I think it's necessary to do that given the current number of cases in Michigan. People are agitated to go out because of the sunny warm weather, and I saw a few people gathering and hanging out outside. A little bit more patience, everyone..!

It's been humid nowadays, so it feels hotter than the actual temperature. The breathe is nice, but still I sweat quite a bit after exercising. Better to run or bike early morning or in the evening.

News are still devlivered from home.

Grand River overflowed!

It was a bright, sunny, and breathy day!

Lots of flowers. This tree looked like painted in pink.
Flooded road! I couldn't believe it.

I just cannot help stopping by and take photos of this sublime beauty.

Looks the best in bright sun at 6 pm!
The river completely overflowed and doubled in width. Original river on the right and what was used to be sidewalks and grass are on the left now gulped by the riverwater.  People were stopping and looking at it with an astonished look. I was one of them.

Now the river formed a lake..

"Beach" made of grass.  It's just hard to believe.

Trees, an electric pole, everything is growing in water.

 Inundated baseball stadium complex!!

The water got very close to the sidewalk.  It used to be a parking lot.

It didn't rain yesterday or today, but the water level is higher today.  Will the water recede or increase even more?  It's kind of scary though I live on a higher land, relatively speaking.  Flooding occurs occasionally around this area because of the river and a lot of rain during spring and summer.  But I never knew. Never have I explored campus this much this frequently.  We'll see how things are tomorrow.

Flooding river and new lake

Beautiful flowers all aroun campus! Never explored campus this much during springtime. It's been a good opportunity to see what's around me instead of travelling far away.

A parking lot was half under water due to recent 48 hour-rain!!  It looked like a lake or a pond with petals floating.

Grand River is almost flooding, and access to nearby roads are blocked now.  Kids  were biking through water on the road and getting wet. It's kind of deep, 2-3 inches?  But they were having fun.

The trees are grown in the water!

Parking lot turned into a lake... I was missing seeing a lake. Yay...
This part of the road is completely underwater. Can't believe there is this much water not draining anywhere.  The water level of the river far back is almost the same as the road. If there were more rain to come, it'd be really dangerous, but it looks like it'll be sunny for a week or so. It will dry up hopefully.

A big lake suddenly appeared!

A bus stop stands above the water.

Walk between rain showers - lots of flowers!!

It's been raining for 48 hours straight and the river is almost flooding!  It's surprising how much rain we got in a short period of time.

Took a walk when the rain became drizzle for an hour or so. Perfect timing!  I wasn't expecting to take good pictures due to the weather, but on the contrary!  Stunning cherry trees full of bloom pleased my eyes.

Cherry tree on a sunny afternoon after rain

Glowing under the late afternoon sun. Beautiful weather and beautiful view. I'm so glad I get to witness the seasons change in such a pleasant way.

News from home

Newscasters work from home too.  I love the workplace practicality and the culture of not being hesitant of showing a part of their home at all.

Hearing some stories of research suspended or cancelled, I feel I was really lucky to be able to finish my labwork on time... It's such a difficult situation with a dilemma.
