Shimogamo jinja shrine and the surrounding forest, a world heritage 下賀茂神社と糺（ただす）の森

Kamogawa delta. 

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, with refreshingly blue skies, and the riverwater was twinkling reflecting the sun.

Inside the shrine runs a stream with pristine water, which has been like this for hundreds of years.  The whole area is well-preserved, and many spots inside the area saw various historic events. 

A portable residence of Kamono Chomei, a wonderer, a poet, and an essayist.  He (his servants, to be precise) carried around this portable residence for himself to be able to write anywhere.  It's a cubic structure with 3 meter-sides.   1 jo is equivallent to 3 meters, and that is why this structure is called hojo (square jo).  

Plum trees have started to bloom!

木屋町の鷺さん A heron on Kiyamachi st.

 夜の木屋町通りはきれいですね。

鷺さんが食べ物を求めてうろうろしていた。とんでもなく人に慣れている。

It's my first time in a long while to go to a bar.. I'm not a nightlife person, but the weather was nice and I like the lights on the street. 

A heron was there looking for food.  Someone told me that the heron is there in front of restaurants because some restaurant owners fed it before.  It was nice to have a short chat like that with a stranger.  

君、塩ホルモンなんて食べるのかい？？

It's funny that the sign says "salty organ meat". 

今日の夢、in 異世界

梅小路公園 Umekoji Park & plum blossom

梅小路公園。綺麗だなー

端から端まで歩いてみたら意外に広かった！

It's a larger park than I thought! 

My hydroculture plants 咲いた！

They bloomed beautiful and brought so much joy to my apartment! 

花が無事に咲いてよかった！  いきなりにょきにょき育ってきて、growth curve はS字曲線！

Tenryuji temple building and the garden 天龍寺

It was snowing/sleeting, but the vast garden is worth visiting.  I saw winter sweet for the first time.  Didn't know it smells so good.  And their petals are waxy, which is why they're called wax plum in Japanese.  I also liked the little signs made of bamboo showing the names of the plants in 4 languages. 

嵐山の天龍寺に蝋梅🌼を見に行ってきました。ちゃんと見たのは初めてかもしれない。蝋梅は甘い良い香りがします。蝋みたいな手触りで、名前のとおり。蝋梅の他にも、四季の植物がたくさん。とても広くて美しい庭園でした。みぞれが降っていて寒かったですがおかげでガラガラでしたー。いろいろ花が咲く頃にまた来たい！

Fushimi inari in twilight

Fushimi inari is such a beautiful place that I never get tired of it, no matter how many times I go there.  It is literally deserted in a weekday evening.
