確定申告できたーーー！！ Tax return submitted!!!

大変だったーーー

今回始めてだったのでいろいろと勉強しないといけず…

全部手探りだったけど、最終的にできるもんなんだな。自信になる経験でした。そして、Freeeという会計・確定申告ソフトがとても便利で、かゆいところに手が届く解説で充実していて、スマホとパソコンだけで確定申告できた。税務署にも行かずに！便利だーー

今まで確定申告は税理士さんにお願いしていたのだけど。というのも、アメリカで確定申告を自分でしないといけなかったのですが、それがものすごく時間がかかってストレスだった。しかも、どれだけ調べても、いろんなサイトを読んでも、英語だし専門用語だし、入力内容これで合ってるのかな…？という不安が拭い去れず。毎回、これで合ってるのかなーーわからんなーーと、不完全燃焼状態で提出していたから、そんな面倒事は外注できるなら外注してしまおうと、思ったのです。まあ、税務当局から何も連絡なかったし、おそらく大丈夫だったのだろうけど。

確かに外注すると楽は楽…。なのですが、経費削減のためです。

自分用マニュアルも作ったから、来年からは、もっと速くいろんなことを効率的にできるはず！　こういうのも、この前書いた、「出来ると自分を信じれば出来る」というやつですな。

I've finished tax filing!!  It was a huge hassle!  

Since it was my first time, I had to learn a lot with trial and error, but in the end, I managed to do it! It turned out to be an empowering experience. Also, the DIY accounting and tax filing service Freee was incredibly useful. Its explanations covered every little detail, and I was able to complete my tax return using just my smartphone and computer, without even going to the tax office! So convenient!  

For the past two years, I had hired an accountant for my tax filings. That’s because, when I was in the U.S., I had to file my taxes on my own, and it was an incredibly time-consuming and stressful process. No matter how much I researched, read different websites, which were in English and full of technical terms, I could never shake the anxiety of "Am I entering this correctly?"  Every year, I submitted my return feeling unsure, wondering "Did I really do it right?  I have no idea..."  And it was so worrying and stressful.  Well, I assume it was fine, since I never got any follow-up from the tax authorities… but I figured that if I could outsource such a hassle, I might as well. And for the past two years, I think it was worth the money, considering how much less stress and more free time I got by not filing tax on my own.

Outsourcing is definitely easier… but this time, I did it myself to save costs.  

I even made my own fool-proof manual for tax filing, so next year, I should be able to do everything much faster!  This is exactly what I wrote about the other day — "If you believe you can do it, you will."
