Lantern lit streets in Higashiyama

Historic streets are lit by lanterns in Higashiyama area, one of the most touristy places in Kyoto.  I like it for its modesty, not bright and showy at all, but it's soft and yet showcases the beauty of the old streets. Too bad it's the last time this event is held..  The city is still deserted.  I like the plenty of space everywhere, but I also recognize that more visitors are needed to help the shops, hotels, and restaurants who are barely surviving for the past two years. It's a mixed feeling.  Until tourists come back, I'll make most of the time when it's so easy to stroll around in this charming city.
