From the city history museum, I rented a bicycle and visited the family residence of Ozawa cran, who made their fortune in the shipping business. It was a magnificent house. Various unique, a bit creepy hina dolls abounded throughout the house. Then I biked around Furumachi shopping street, took a quick peek at Hakusan Shrine, crossed Bandai Bridge against the wind and rain, and finally reached the goal at Niigata Station. It was quite an adventure. Renting a bike is a good idea because I could make many side trips, well, if the weather permits. I had a very good time in Niigata, learning a lot, enjoying good food, and seeing both nature and city.
