Visited Shirahama town in Wakayama for the first time. It's famous for white sanded beach - hence its name. The weather was kind enough not to rain. The sea was so big, and I enjoyed our taxi ride on the seaside roads, and soak myself in seabreathe.
南方熊楠記念館も行った。熊楠さん、世界中に行って、粘菌とかの採集、標本づくりをするのが何より好きだったようで。海外渡航が簡単ではない時代に、すごい。何とミシガン州立大学の前身の学校にも行っている！しかしアメリカでは当時禁酒法があって、大酒飲みだった彼は酒絡みの問題を起こして自主退学している。なんだそれは…。ものすごい記憶力があった逸話も。これと決めたらそれしか見えない人が傾ける情熱は凄まじい。
