Went to a Jamaican/Haitian BBQ place in Lansing. We ordered different things like jerk chicken, pulled pork, pulled chicken, chicken curry. They come with sides of cornbread, rice and beans, slaw, vegetables etc. It was all good; exotic spicy flavor was nice, and as always, it was a lot of food! I got food for the whole weekend. The huge plate has rice and beans, and it was seasoned well and delicious. Chewy rice and creamy beans are a perfect combination! We were there for an hour, and the car was super hot already by the time we came out. Nowadays it's too hot to go out anywhere, I just want to stay air-conditioned room all day and maybe get active when it cools down in the evening...
ジャマイカ（＆ハイチ？）BBQのお店に行った。ジャマイカといえばこれ！というジャークチキン。野菜たっぷりのソースがかかっていて、辛さもあり南国の味。ジャマイカからのポスドクの方曰く、「地元のとはちょっと違うけど、美味しいわね」 カレーチキンも美味しかった。インドカレーともタイカレーとも違う、スパイスたっぷり、でも素材の味もよくわかる感じ。一番大きなお皿は Rice & Beans。サイドメニュー（白ご飯的な）のはずがこんな存在感。いつもながらすさまじいと思いつつ、しっかり持って帰って週末ご飯のできあがり。それにしても暑い…蒸し暑い……30℃ないのに…冬が厳しい分夏は穏やかであってほしいのになあ。
Jerk Chicken ジャークというスパイスミックスを使った調理法らしい。
Curry chicken チキンカレーではなく、カレーチキンなのがポイントなのだそうだ。
