伏見稲荷 頂上まで Fushimi-Inari shrine hiking

Climbed Mt. Inari at long last!  The roads are all stairs, so it's easy to walk.  It's fascinating to go through many many red Tori'i gates.  Foxes seem to be an important animal here, of which statues are found here and there.  I was blown away to learn that it has been a common practice to climb this mountain since 1,000 years ago  for prayers.  What a long history!! 

念願の伏見稲荷のお山に登って来ました！　山というか階段なので登りやすい。歩いていると全然寒くなかった。鳥居がたくさんでおもろいなーとか思って歩いていたら頂上まであっという間だった。伏見に登るのは千年前からよく行われていたらしく、歴史の息吹に震えた。今度は脇道にそれてみて、小さな社たちを見てみたいな。
