Spring Plant Sale

Another event to celebrate the arrival of spring - Department of Horticulture is hosting a plant sale for people who love gardening.

There are a wide variety of plants of different sizes and colours sold here, attracting many visitors. Most of the small seedlings of flowers are $5-10, and big trees taller than me is $80! It was nice to see people with trolleys full of flowers and grass.

On the way back, I saw someone working on his garden planning what to plant this season. Time to make it full of bloom!

園芸学科の花苗市場。今年も庭仕事に勤しもうという方々であふれ、大変な賑わいでした。こちらは一軒家ばかりで、庭も大きいので、さぞ耕し甲斐があることでしょう。

大学院生がボランティアスタッフをしているそう。売れ残った植物をもらえるらしく、それが十分な報酬。こういうのが強制でないのがとても良い。
